What Is FastPeopleSearch?
FastPeopleSearch is a free people search site that gives away basic personal information and charges for detailed reports. Because it's free, it gets heavy traffic from people casually looking up others - making your exposed data highly visible.
Your FastPeopleSearch profile might include:
- Full name and aliases: Including maiden names and nicknames
- Current and past addresses: Sometimes going back many years
- Phone numbers: Mobile and landline, current and historical
- Email addresses: Any publicly associated with your name
- Age and date of birth: Often prominently displayed
- Relatives and associates: Names of people connected to you
- Neighbors: People who lived near your addresses
Hidden Opt-Out Page
FastPeopleSearch doesn't link to their opt-out page from their homepage. They intentionally make it difficult to find. This guide gives you the direct link.
Step-by-Step Opt-Out Process
Step 1: Go to the Hidden Removal Page
Navigate directly to the opt-out page:
You won't find a link to this page anywhere on their main site - they don't want you to find it.
Step 2: Begin the Removal Process
- Enter your email address
- Read and check the box to agree to their terms and conditions
- Complete the "I'm not a robot" CAPTCHA
- Click "Begin Removal Process"
Use a Throwaway Email
Create a separate email address for data broker opt-outs. Data brokers often add opt-out requesters to new databases. Don't give them your primary email. Consider ProtonMail or a disposable email service.
Step 3: Search for Your Profile
- Enter your full name
- Enter your city and state
- Click "Free Search"
FastPeopleSearch will display a list of matching profiles.
Step 4: Find and View Your Profile
- Scan through the results to find your listing
- Match by age, city, and any relatives shown
- Click "View Free Details" on your profile
Step 5: Request Removal
- On your profile page, click "Remove My Record"
- You'll see a confirmation that a verification email has been sent
Step 6: Verify via Email
- Check your inbox for an email from FastPeopleSearch
- If not in inbox, check spam/junk folders
- Click the button that says "Click here to remove [Your Name]"
- You'll see confirmation that your profile will be removed within 72 hours
Step 7: Verify Removal
After 72 hours (3 days), search for yourself on FastPeopleSearch again to confirm your profile is gone.
Multiple Profiles
If you find several listings with your information (different addresses, phone numbers, etc.), you'll need to repeat the process for each one.
Good news: You can submit up to 5 opt-out requests from the same email address, so you can handle multiple profiles in one session.
Alternative Methods
By Phone
Call FastPeopleSearch at (617) 229-7889 and request removal of your personal information. Be prepared to verify your identity.
By Mail
Send a written request to:
FastPeopleSearchPO BOX 55071
Boston, MA 02205-5071
Include in your letter:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Current and previous addresses
- URL of your listing (if you have it)
- Clear statement requesting removal
California Residents: CCPA Rights
California residents can add legal weight to their request. Include this language:
"Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105, I am exercising my right to deletion. Please delete all personal information you have collected about me and confirm deletion within 45 days as required by law."
Your Data Will Return
FastPeopleSearch regularly refreshes their database from public records and other data sources. Even after successful removal, your information can reappear.
Set a calendar reminder: Re-check FastPeopleSearch every 90 days. If your profile reappears, go through the opt-out process again.
This is an ongoing battle, not a permanent solution.
Troubleshooting
Can't Find Your Profile
- Try different name variations (maiden name, middle name, nicknames)
- Search with previous cities/states you've lived in
- Try searching with just first name and state (broader search)
Verification Email Never Arrived
- Check spam/junk folders thoroughly
- Wait 15 minutes and check again
- Try submitting with a different email address
- Contact them by phone: (617) 229-7889
Profile Still Visible After 72 Hours
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Check from an incognito/private browser window
- Try from a different device or network
- Contact them by phone to follow up
"Maximum Requests" Error
If you've already submitted 5 opt-outs from one email, you'll need to use a different email address for additional requests.
Removing from Google Search Results
After FastPeopleSearch removes your profile, it may still appear in Google results due to caching:
- Verify your profile is actually removed from FastPeopleSearch
- Go to Google's Remove Outdated Content tool
- Submit the URL of your old FastPeopleSearch profile
- Google will remove it from search results within days to weeks
